The Straits Times has flagged triathlon as the ‘most prestigious endurance event that, like Formula One, will showcase the city’s skyline to millions of people abroad.’ The newspaper was commenting on the arrival of the ITU World Championship Series, which kicks off in Singapore on 9-10 May 2009.
Following Singapore, the newly sponsored 2009 Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU World Championship Series will make stops in some spectacular locations such as Washington DC (USA), Madrid (Spain), Kitzbühel (Austria), Hamburg (Germany), and Yokohama (Japan).
In August, athletes will get their first look at the 2012 Olympic venue as the series travels to London (UK). The series wraps up with the Grand Final in Gold Coast, Australia on 9-13 September 2009.
