The tender for the OutDoor Industry Award and the Eurobike Award as part of the two international trade fairs OutDoor (10-13 July 2014) and Eurobike (27-30 August 2014) is entering a new round. As the trade show team at Messe Friedrichshafen in Germany points out, for the last eight years, the two awards in the bicycle and outdoor sectors have experienced ‘ever-increasing growth’.
The awards for especially innovative products are well received and garner a great deal of attention in their respective media and wider trade circles. They also help to offer convincing arguments for purchase from the customer’s prospective.
Against this backdrop, Messe Friedrichshafen has announced that it will be entering the new round with a new partner. The competition, which has aimed to establish itself as a seal of quality in innovation and design, will continue to be offered and organised by Messe Friedrichshafen. An independent panel of experts under the leadership of the organisation German Designer Club (DDC) will review and assess the submitted products.
“We will retain the proven concept in its essence but also make improvements”, said Messe Friedrichshafen CEO Klaus Wellmann. “The DDC has been organizing the ‘Good Design’ competition for many years and is now bringing its experience to the two awards of Messe Friedrichshafen.”
The new organisation of the two awards is now in full swing. The tenders and conditions of participation will be sent out to show exhibitors at the end of April 2014. At the OutDoor trade fair (10-13 July 2014) and at the international bike show Eurobike (27-30 August 2014), the award ceremony will be held on the first day of the fair in each case.
All winners will be prominently presented within the framework of a product exhibition.
The OutDoor Industry Award will be presented at the international trade fair OutDoor in Friedrichshafen. From more than 300 submissions in 2013, the jury recognised a total of 52 product innovations, eleven of which received a Gold Award. For the Eurobike Award, in 2013 the jury recognised a total of 61 product innovations from among more than 400 entries, ten of which received a Gold Award.
