The Eton Sprints, organised by leading UK mass participation events company Human Race, is incorporating the official British Sprint Triathlon Championship at Dorney Lake on 17 May 2014. The day’s racing is billed as a perfect way to kick start the triathlon season and test winter fitness.
With a 750m swim, a safe closed-roads 21.2K bike course followed by a 5K run course along the lake, this is probably ‘the flattest triathlon in the UK’. The course at Dorney Lake is great for beginners who are dipping their toe into triathlon waters for the first time and is also well placed for the experienced triathlete hoping to boost confidence by completing a fast early season triathlon.
For those who are brave enough to pit themselves against the best of British in their age-group, then Home Nation members can take part in the 2014 Official British Sprint Triathlon Championship element of the day where athletes will compete across the same distance.
All Eton Sprints entrants will be in separate waves from the official British Triathlon wave based on gender and age. As part of the British Championships, medals will be awarded in a number of age categories (from U20’s through to the 75-79 age category). The eligible categories are:
- U20s Male/Female
- 20-24 Male/Female
