Warner Bros Discovery broadcast deal boosts TV eye for supertri

Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) and supertri have agreed a partnership that will deliver live coverage of all supertri events in 2024. This will reach an extensive international audience via Eurosport as well as live and on-demand streaming on discovery+ and Max in Europe.

(From spring 2024, Max will initially launch in 25 countries in Europe that currently offer HBO Max, integrating Eurosport content and replacing discovery+ or the Eurosport App. discovery+ is currently available in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, the United Kingdom and Ireland.)

The supertri and WBD agreement begins with the supertri E World Triathlon Championships powered by Zwift, which takes place at the London Aquatic Centre on Saturday, April 13, 2024. In this real-world-meets-virtual event, up to 60 of the world’s best triathletes including Olympic medallists Jonny Brownlee, Cassandre Beaugrand and Vicky Holland are set to compete in a one-day championship which forms part of the supertri League continuing later in 2024.

supertri is a closed pro league format that amasses many of the world’s best short-course elite athletes. supertri E (formerly Arena Games) blends real life and virtual racing, and featured at the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Olympic Esports Week. Its upcoming supertri E World Triathlon Championship in partnership with World Triathlon crowns official esports triathlon world champions.

Warner Bros Discovery shows a range of professional triathlon events taking place throughout the year including all competitions from the superti series as well as the Olympic Games at Paris 2024 this summer.
