Report and spa centre specialist, Life Time Fitness Inc is embracing endurance sports with the appointment of sports performance coach and trainer Troy Jacobson as Director of Endurance Sports Training.
In his new role, Jacobson will develop and launch training programmes for triathlon, running, cycling and swimming linked to the company’s events. He will also design an in-club coaching programme and create online coaching and training for Life Time members and staff. In addition, Jacobson will spearhead the creation of Life Time Fitness’ running, cycling and triathlon interest groups.
Well known within the triathlon, cycling and running communities, Jacobson began coaching endurance athletes in 1992. He is credited with revolutionising multisport coaching as well as elevating the role of online coaching. To date, he has trained more than 1,500 athletes and reached thousands more worldwide via his training media, seminars and coaching network.
"Troy’s reputation as an innovator and driving force behind many coaching and training programmes will benefit Life Time Fitness members across the country," commented Mark Thom, Vice-President, Fitness Services for Life Time Fitness. "He brings a variety of coaching and teaching experiences to our programme and he has the ability to work with beginners as well as elite athletes."

This latest appointment reaffirms Life Time Fitness’ commitment to triathlon, building on the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series’ race to the Toyota Cup that premiered in 2008 and introduced the first US Open in the sport. This series connects four prominent Olympic distance races in the United States.
