Australian triathlon ‘super team’ Team HiPer3 is aiming for gold at the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, Florida. The newly formed team is understood to be securing a global branding partner and a number of parties are said to be taking an interest.
The formation of Team HiPer3 follows on the success of Australian Craig Alexander at the Kona Ironman world championship.
Headlining Team HiPer3 is Peter Robertson, a three time ITU world champion and two time Olympian. “This is a new era in triathlon competition. Racing for the value of a team will allow us to change the dynamic of a race and work towards a common goal of a team member taking the win,” Robertson said.
Australian Olympian Simon Thompson, Australian David Dellow and Britain’s Ryan O’Neill are also team members.
