US cycling promoter Bikes Belong is pleased to announce six grant awards this autumn/fall that will help put more people on bicycles more often in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
According to Bikes Belong, these contributions, totalling US$50,000, will ‘leverage federal funding, build momentum for bicycling and make communities better places to ride. These grants are made possible by the Bikes Belong Employee Pro Purchase Program.’
Bikes Belong is sponsored by the US bicycle industry with the simple goal of putting more people on bicycles more often. The organisation has nearly 400 members – comprised of bicycle suppliers and retailers combining resources to improve bicycling in the US. Based in Boulder, Colorado, the organisation has 12 professional staff, 18 volunteer directors, and a US$2 million annual operating budget.
