Giant opens flagship store in Amsterdam

Following on from recent Giant bike store launches in Liverpool, Cambridge and Bristol in the UK, the company opened the doors of a flagship store in Amsterdam in September.

In a country that has embraced cycling for decades, the new Amsterdam outlet is spacious yet crammed full of rows of bicycles. The store on the Van Woustraat in Amsterdam also differs from the typical bike shop.

Beyond the purchase of Giant’s latest bikes, or getting a bicycle repair, visitors can also utilise the store’s picnic table, drink a cup of coffee and even have a shower to freshen up. Meanwhile a bike fitting room ensures that a customer’s purchase best fits their body.

The unveiling of the new flagship store also brought Tony Lo, CEO of Giant Group, to Amsterdam. He attended the store’s opening ceremony and continued his visit by meeting with European directors of Giant.

Giant, a global bike industry leader producing some 5.5 million bicycles per year, gained a following in the Netherlands in the 1980s by successfully introducing mountain bikes to the country’s streets and trails.
