TYR Sport Inc has announced a multi-year partnership with two-time Olympian Jeanette Ottesen through to the year 2012. A native of Denmark, Ottesen is recognised as one of the premier freestyle and butterfly sprinters in Europe, holding seven Danish national records. She placed fifth in the world at the Beijing Olympic Games in the 100m freestyle and ranked among the top-10 fastest times last year in the 50m butterfly.
“Jeanette Ottesen is on the forefront of swimming as a young, talented sprinter with strong international racing experience. We are proud to have her join our elite team of athletes,” said Franck Horter, TYR’s European General Sales Manager.
As part of the new affiliation, Ottesen will compete in record-setting TYR technology through to the 2012 London Olympic Games. In addition, she will provide valuable input for the development of future swimsuit technology.

Ottesen is set to race this summer at the Mare Nostrum and FINA World Championship in Rome. TYR’s elite team members include three-time Olympic medallist Matt Grevers, six-time world record holder and two-time Olympic medallist Amaury Leveaux, and two-time Olympic medallist Amanda Weir. Most recently in Europe, TYR has established partnerships with the Danish Swimming Federation and Spanish Swimming Federation.
