Back by popular demand, World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) has announced the return of ‘Demo Days’, an interactive race expo at the 2009 Ford Ironman World Championships. For the second year running, Demo Days will allow athletes, friends and other visitors have the opportunity to test drive and learn about the latest and greatest equipment from the leading companies in triathlon.
Endless Pools will be on-site at Demo Days, giving athletes the chance to try on and test their swim skills in the newest wetsuits and speed suits from companies such as Aqua Sphere, Louis Garneau, Orca, Zoot, TYR & Rocket Science.
The newest bikes, pedals, and helmets will be on show from companies including: Cannondale, SCOTT, Argon 18, Kestrel, Fuji, Felt, Profile Design, Orbea, LOOK, EDGE Composites, FSA, 3T, Specialized, SRAM, Zipp, Cervelo, Bontrager, Ceepo, Speedplay, Quintana Roo, Louis Garneau and many more. Visitors can see what the pros are riding and take a bike for a spin down Alii Drive to find out what the latest technology feels like.
Then, visitors can transition from the ride and try on the newest footwear from running companies such as K-Swiss, Avia and Zoot.
Alongside a testing opportunity, Demo Days provides a variety of educational opportunities and fun. A large central stage in the middle of the expo will serve as the platform for multiple athlete appearances and autograph sessions, seminars, demos and more.
Demo Days will be conveniently located inside the Ford Ironman Village at Hale Halawai in the heart of downtown Kailua-Kona on Ali’i Drive. It will be open during the four days leading up the Ford Ironman World Championships. Kick off begins immediately after the Ironman Parade of Nations on Tuesday 6 October and will conclude on Friday 9 October.
