One of the most popular races on the Ironman 70.3 circuit, the 2009 Vineman Ironman 70.3 Triathlon has sold out to general entry. Commencing on 5 January 2009, a wait list was started for those interested in still entering the event.
The Vineman Ironman 70.3 Triathlon continues to be one of the most popular races on the racing calendar and has been such for 18 years running. Serving as a qualifying race for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 (69 age group and 6 pro slots) the Vineman Ironman 70.3 is scheduled for 19 July 2009 in Sonoma County, California.
Along with the ever popular and strong age group battles, the race features a Pro Prize Purse of at least US$25,000 (€18,550). The 2008 defending champions are Terenzo Bozzone and Joanna Zeiger.
