Registration for the USA Triathlon (USAT) 2011 Duathlon National Championship – slated for 30 April 2011 in Tucson, Arizona, opens today Wednesday 1 December. Registration will close on 21 April 2011 at 23:59 MST or once the race sells out
The event will feature on-road and off-road duathlon races, as well as the USAT Elite Duathlon National Championship.
The on-road event features a pair of 5K runs sandwiched around a 35K bike leg, while the off-road race is comprised of a 5K run, a 24.1K bike and a 2.5K run. The elites will race on the 5K-35K-5K on-road course.
The on-road event will be capped at 1,100 participants, while 100 spots are available for the off-road event. A record field of nearly 1,300 athletes competed in the 2010 USAT Duathlon National Championship in Richmond, Virginia.
