The partnership between security specialist Kryptonite and Bike Revolution continues to build momentum. Originally unveiled at Interbike 2010 in Las Vegas, Bike Revolution has recently relaunched its website.
Meanwhile, both companies are preparing to have Kryptonite Bike Revolution Pulse ID tags ready to go at select independent bicycle dealers in the UK and US this coming January. International expansion to other countries will follow in 2011.
The Kryptonite and Bike Revolution partnership provides cyclists with a free global bike registration service designed to reduce bike theft and aid recovery. Using mobile technology and social networking, Bike Revolution offers cyclists new ways to protect and recover their bikes, if stolen.

To pay for the costs of running the service, Bike Revolution offers state-of-the-art Pulse ID tags for sale. These are tamper-resistant packs of scannable tags, embedded with a user’s bike info. As the team at Bike Revolution point out, ‘Thieves hate traceable goods. Beat the thief.’
Briand Beausoleil, co-founder and Director at Bike Revolution told triathlonbusiness that the Pulse ID tags are “extremely difficult to remove. They are manufactured using a tamper resistant material. If a thief tries to remove the tag it takes forever and ultimately leaves a trace!
“The thief sees the tag and knows that they can’t sell the bike. The handler, who needs volume of stolen goods, also won’t spend the hours it takes to try and remove the tag.”
So, cyclists can register their bike at no cost on the Bike Revolution website. For additional protection, a rider can purchase a Kryptonite Bike Revolution Bicycle ID Kit, which includes anti-theft Pulse ID tags.
