FSA recalls Gossamer BB30 non-drive crank arms

FSA has announced a voluntary recall of all Gossamer BB30 non-drive crank arms. This follows some reports that the bolt shoulder can crack and break if the installer exceeds the recommended torque when tightening the crank bolt.

Affected units have serial numbers beginning with 10B, 10C and 10D. Serial numbers are located on the back side of the crankarm by the pedal threads.

According to FSA, Gossamer BB30 non-drive side arms are the only products in this recall. Other, similarly named products, such as MegaExo, all Gossamer BB30 drive-side arms and Gossamer BB30 triple cranksets are not affected.

Owners should stop use of the affected Gossamer BB30 non-drive crank arms immediately and have the arm replaced by their local FSA dealer at no cost.

Deployed on certain road bikes, in Europe, Gossamer BB30 non-drive crank arms have been reportedly assembled on the following bicycles:

Bianchi SEMPRE Veloce 10v
Bianchi SEMPRE 105
Bianchi SEMPRE Ultegra

Cannondale Synapse Alloy 105 / Apex
Cannondale Super Six 5 105
Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 / Apex
