Monaco switches from Ironman 70.3 to TriStar111

After five years of Ironman 70.3, the Principality of Monaco will host the brand new TriStar111 Monaco on 5 September 2010. According to Star Production SARL, the Monaco-based company that owns the TriStar label, the entire organising staff of Ironman 70.3 in Monaco followed CEO Georg Hochegger to the new company that will focus on the TriStar format.

Replacing the Monaco Ironman 70.3 triathlon, TriStar111 Monaco, with a maximum of 1,000 participants, will see distances change. The TriStar111 format has a total distance of 111km – with a 1km swim, 100km bike leg and 10km run.

“TriStar111 Monaco takes place in a unique spot full of splendid views. Athletes appreciated the race we have set up for the past five years, and now I am happy that most of my key staff followed me to make athletes’ dreams come true in my new company. Star Events in general and TriStar111 Monaco in particular will focus on the fun-factor while showing social responsibility and reducing the environmental impact of sports events,” said Georg Hochegger, CEO of Star Production.
