New TriGrandPrix triathlon series launched

A new international triathlon series is gracing the triathlon events calendar in 2010. TriGrandPrix is positioned as a bold, exciting and unique world class series of triathlon events for elite professionals through to age group triathletes.

The organisers of the TriGrandPrix series are working ‘to place triathlon in the media spotlight and explode the sport’s visibility.’ The series will be initially launched via two events in 2010; an additional event may also be added to the 2010 calendar.

The five events would run from February to July each year and would cover different distances from Olympic, Half Iron to Full Iron Distance events.

2010 TriGrandPrix events:
• Outrageous Half (TriGrandPrix UK): Half Iron distance – 30 May 2010, Kent, UK
• Zarauzko Triatloia (TriGrandPrix Spain): Half Iron distance – 12 June 2010, Zarautz, Spain

An Olympic distance event for 2010 is in the process of being finalised.

The Outrageous Half will take place at the Leybourne Lake Country Park in Kent; 30 minutes from London. The Zarautz Triathlon will take place in the Basque region of Northern Spain in the town of Zarautz.
