On the back of Puma recently forming part of a newly created business group and despite difficulties being experienced at its Greek subsidiary, the German sporting goods company has hiked its sales outlook and posted solid third-quarter 2010 results.
The company expects its sales outlook to improve in the fourth quarter as it reported strong demand in North America and Latin America, which helped boost overall third-quarter sales by 6.5%.
Sales surged 27% in the Americas but were broadly flat in Asia Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Puma affirmed its target of reaching €4 billion (US$5.6 billion) of sales by 2015.
"The second half of the year continues to show solid sales growth which should more than offset the flat performance in the first half of the year," Puma said in a statement.
Puma posted overall third-quarter net profit of €77.6 million, up from €67.9 million in the previous year period.
