TriStar111 Nevis 2011

The TriStar series, from Monaco based Star Production SARL, keeps on expanding. TriStar111 Nevis is the first of a number of new TriStar event destinations to be announced for 2011.

As the latest edition to the TriStar stable, TriStar111 Nevis will be the climax of a week full of fun and sport on the Caribbean Island of Nevis. The race week will feature a ‘StarMile’ swimming event as well as a TriStar11.1 race for beginners.

TriStar111 Nevis makes use of the TriStar 111K format with: 1K of swimming, 100K of cycling and 10K of running. The event will take place on 2 April 2011 on the island of Nevis in the Caribbean Sea.

Charlestown, the island’s capital, will be the start and finishing point of the international TriStar triathlon format.

“TriStar111 Nevis with its connected team and family member events will bring a huge boost in terms of sports tourism to the island of Nevis”, said Winston Crooke, President of the St Kitts & Nevis Triathlon Federation, which will act as partner for Star Production SARL in producing the event.

TriStar111 Nevis will replace the popular annual regional triathlon that was held during the month of March.

The event week will be opened with the first ever StarMile swimming event. The former Nevis to St Kitts Cross Channel Swim over 2.5 miles will be relabelled ‘StarMile 2.5 Nevis’ and kicks off a week of fun, social responsibility and environmental protection on the island.

Later in the week, a TriStar11.1 will be held for kids and triathlon newcomers, before the main event takes place on Saturday.

All of the hotels and guest houses on the island will be targeted for accommodation and entertainment during the one week period for which the visitors are expected to remain on the island. Hotels and guest houses in St Kitts, the neighbouring island, will also be utilised.
