TYR Sport has extended its contract with two-time Olympic Gold Medallist Matt Grevers through to 2013. A Tyr athlete since 2006, he will continue to compete in the company’s collection of swimwear and accessories.
“Matt is one of the sports greatest athletes and role models,” said TYR Team Sales and Promotions Director Matt Zimmer. “Having known him since he was a young age-group swimmer in Illinois, nothing is more satisfying than watching him evolve as an athlete and a person. We are proud to have Grevers as part of the TYR family as he continues to achieve great success in and out of the water.”
“I am very excited to extend my sponsorship with TYR,” added Grevers. “The management team treats me as extended family, the same way they treat all of their athletes and partners.”
According to the company, Grevers has been essential during the development of TYR’s technical suits – most recently with the new Tracer High-Performance Line. In recent competition, he has raced in the Tracer Light, Tracer B-Series, and Tracer C-Series on the way to six Gold Medals in USA Swimming’s 2009-10 Grand Prix Series.
