The International Cycling Union (UCI – Union Cycliste Internationale) has signed a new contract with SBS (Australia) Corporation for television coverage of the UCI World Cups and World Championships for all four Olympic cycling disciplines.
The new agreement gives the Australian public television network exclusive broadcasting rights in Australia for a three-year period.
SBS will broadcast all UCI World Cup events (BMX, mountain bike, track cycling, road) from 2010 to 2012. All the World Championship events will be broadcast live, while the World Cup events will, at the very least, feature in television highlight magazines.
