With nearly a month to go until race day, USA Triathlon’s Duathlon Age Group National Championship has surpassed its record entry total from 2009.
According to Richmond Sports Backers, over 1,190 athletes have already signed up for the signature race of the 2010 USAT National Duathlon Festival, which will take place on 24-25 April in Richmond, Virginia. There were 1,180 participants in the age group nationals event a year ago.
There is a combined cap of 1,500 participants in place for the Sunday 25 April races, which include the Age Group National Championship, Junior Nationals and the Sport Race.
As of Wednesday, fewer than 100 spots remain for these races. However, it is not too late to secure a place on the starting line by registering at www.duathlonnationals.com.
Additionally, registration is open for the Youth On-Road National Race (ages 7-12), the Off-Road Expert and Sport Races and the Off-Road Duathlon Duo Relay on Saturday 24 April.
