Taking place on 20-22 March 2012, at the Grand Hyatt, Metro Center, Washington DC – registration is now open for the 2012 National Bike Summit. Next year’s event has the strapline ‘Save Cycling’ and the event organisers note that cycling has now reached a pivotal position in the US.
Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists said that “the Summit is scheduled just 8 days before our current Federal transportation funding program expires and has to either be extended [for the umpteenth time] or re-written.”
He continued, “We’re going to need as big of a crowd as we can muster to go up Capitol Hill en masse and make the case for continued dedicated funding for bike programs.”
