The publishers of H2Open magazine, the UK based title dedicated to the world of open water swimming, is planning an ‘H2Open Day’ for Saturday 28 April 2012. The venue for the open water swimming expo and event will most likely be the Copthorne Hotel, near Reading; around 40 miles west of London, and the home of the adjoining Tri2O Swim Centre.
H2Open magazine will be working with Triathlon Racing Inc and MySportingTimes to create a day of open water swimming activities.
What’s on offer so far:
- Exhibition space – H2Open will be inviting leading open water swimming brands to come and demonstrate their latest kit and services
- Equipment testing – try out wetsuits and other kit (in a lake, expected water temperature 10-14 degrees!)
- Open water swimming demonstrations – watch expert swimmers demonstrate starts, turns, drafting and open water swimming technique
- Talks and presentations – hear from the experts
- Coached open water session – get in some pre-season practice
- Training race – a low key 750m no-pressure practice race
The event will run from 12:00 to 19:00 GMT on 28 April 2012. Pricing is expected to be £15 for event entrance, and £25 for event entrance plus training.
Open water swim enthusiasts can register their interest online; and H2Open will send sign-up details nearer the time.
