Registration opens soon to take part in the first ever Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote Canarias Spain. It is understood that the first ever Ironman Lanzarote 70.3 is set to take place on 10 November 2012. According to the organisers of Ironman Lanzarote, ‘this awsome [new] event will challenge athletes amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe.’
Age group triathletes will also have the chance to win one of 30 qualifying slots for the 2013 Ironman 70.3 World Championship at Lake Las Vegas, in Henderson, Nevada. Further details about Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote Spain are expected in the coming weeks. MyLaps ChampionChip is the official timing system used during the race. Active Europe is the Official Online Partner for the event and will be processing race registrations.
Slots are limited to 850 for age group athletes and 50 for professionals, so early registration is recommended. Registration will close on 20 October 2012 or sooner if the limit of 850 age group athletes is reached.
The entry fee is €219 (+ 5% service charge) before 1 March 2012 and €249 (+ 5% service charge) thereafter.
