Tri-California selects Active Network to go the distance

Leading event registration and cloud computing specialist Active Network Inc, is now the technology provider of choice for Tri-California Events Inc, the producer of high-quality endurance events throughout California.

Among Tri-California’s top-rated endurance races is the iconic Avia Wildflower Triathlons Festival – ‘the largest multi-day triathlon event in the world’ – which celebrates its 30th anniversary on 4-6 May 2012. Tri-California also produces the San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz, the Triathlon at Pacific Grove, the Alcatraz Challenge Swim and Aquathlon, and Scott Tinley’s Triathlon.

“Our goal is to motivate individuals of all ages and fitness levels toward a healthier lifestyle by providing training and racing opportunities in the sport of triathlon,” said Terry Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tri-California.

“We selected Active Network as our technology partner both for its long-standing leadership in the endurance market, its ability to automate and scale our event and participant management, and help ensure we have stacked starting lines. Competency in these areas allows us to focus on our core mission of putting on the industry’s best multisport events.”

ActiveWorks
Tri-California becomes one of the first major endurance customers to use ActiveWorks, the newest cloud-based technology platform from Active Network, to manage a host of online event management functions including online, on-site and mobile registrations, participant management, volunteer management, payment processing, donations and fundraising, training and marketing communications.

“We have invested a great deal in R&D resources to build our new, best-in-class ActiveWorks platform and thereby help our customers modernize and automate their event management processes,” said Matt Ehrlichman, Chief Strategy Officer at Active Network. “We are delighted to partner with Tri-California to grow the sport of triathlon overall and to support its aim of encouraging everyday athletes to exercise with purpose.”
