British Triathlon has confirmed that the 2011 British Youth and Junior Triathlon Championships will take place on 4 and 5 June as part of the Challenger World organised event – the GE Blenheim Triathlon.
The announcement adds additional prestige to what is one of the favourite events on the UK triathlon calendar and the second event of the 2011 British Triathlon Super Series.
The event which is also the third of the British Triathlon Youth and Junior Super Series will bring together some of the most promising talent from across the UK, providing a world class environment to prepare future Olympic hopefuls.
Simon Mills, Performance Development Manager for British Triathlon, said “The British Triathlon Youth and Junior Championships is a great opportunity for our most talented and upcoming athletes to compete in a World Class environment and go head to head with athletes of similar ability and aptitude.
“To have the event as part of the GE Blenheim Triathlon will take the event to another level and will be a great experience for all the triathletes racing in front of such a big crowd, supporting them around the course.”
James Robinson, Managing Director of Challenger World added “We are delighted to welcome the Youth and Junior Championships to the GE Blenheim Triathlon. I am sure the participants will revel in the opportunity of racing with the elites and look forward to some very exciting racing.”
