Registration for the 2012 Ironman 70.3 Hawaii opened at 12pm EST yesterday. The race is scheduled for Saturday 2 June 2012.
Ironman 70.3 Hawaii will offer 30 age group qualifying slots to the 2012 Marine Corps Ironman World Championship 70.3 at Lake Las Vegas, in Henderson, Nevada. Additionally, there will be a prize purse of US$15,000 for distribution among the top professional male and female finishers.
Athletes start the day with a swim in the crystal blue waters of Hapuna Beach State Park along the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. Then they take on the challenging 56 mile bike course on the legendary Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway. The day finishes with a 13.1 mile ‘run through paradise’.
