Midlands based Absolute Triathlon Coaching will be hosting a series of evening aquathlons at the National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham, UK, starting on Friday June 3rd at 7.00pm.
The aquathlons are an opportunity for local triathletes to get some essential race practice in, have some fun as well as competing for the position of series winner. Absolute has secured a number of prizes for the series including bike fits, 1-2-1 swim analysis and a wetsuit worth £245 courtesy of Zone 3.
The 4 aquathlons consist of a 750m swim and a 5K run and all abilities are welcome. Participants will earn points for taking part and the combined points will determine the winners of the four age group categories.
Coach Steve Lloyd said “The series will offer something for everyone; a great way for beginners to gain some essential race experience as well as pushing more experienced athletes who will benefit from a bit of healthy competition. The National Water Sports Centre is the ideal venue as the swim is parallel to the bank of the lake and the run course is flat, so we should have a lot of fun over the four evenings!”
The series is open to anyone but participants are limited to just 100 so Absolute is advising people to pre-register on the company’s website at www.absolutetri.com/aquathlonraceseries.html.
The cost is just £12 per race or £40 to enter all four. All the races take place at 7.00 pm on the following dates: June 3rd, July 1st, August 5th and September 9th.
