Bright eyes for Tri NZ and adidas Eyewear

Triathlon New Zealand has confirmed a new commercial partnership with leading global eyewear supplier adidas Eyewear. This comes hot on the heels of a joint promo competition between the sunglasses manufacturer and the New Zealand national governing body.

adidas Eyewear is now the official supplier of eyewear to Tri NZ in a multi-year contract signed between the two parties that will see benefits to high performance athletes, the Tri NZ youth academy and events throughout the New Zealand summer.

Tri NZ Commercial Manager Carl Jackson spoke about the partnership, stating, “We are conscious with all of our commercial partners and suppliers that the companies be a good fit for Tri NZ and bring to the sport a high quality product and reputation; we certainly get that with adidas Eyewear, and they are clearly a world leader in their market.

“The benefits to our sport from the high performance side of things right through to a presence at our events through summer, in particular the Contact Tri Series and Tri Woman Series, will be considerable and add value to our sponsorship portfolio.”

Jackson added, “As well of course we know that we can present some great returns to adidas Eyewear through their involvement with one of the country’s fastest growing and most dedicated bunch of participants and followers.”

adidas Eyewear Sports Marketing Manager Mark Finlay was excited to confirm the company’s partnership with Tri NZ. He noted, “We’re proud to be able to partner with Tri NZ and be able to support their high performance athletes, youth academy and all Tri NZ events.

“We pride ourselves on setting the standard for the performance eyewear needs of the sport and feel it is a great way to showcase our product while supporting the growing sport of triathlon in New Zealand.”

Included in the partnership is a customised range of products for the New Zealand team at the 2012 World Championships to be held in Auckland, something that will roll out early to mid next year and will provide further added value for all participants.

As the marketing information proudly says ‘See Better. Be Better. adidas Eyewear.’ According to Tri NZ, this ‘has to be good news for all triathletes, from social to the serious to elite.’
