Online biking retail giant Chain Reaction Cycles has announced its sponsorship of Irish professional triathlete Bryan Keane for the 2011 season.
Bryan will compete on the European circuit season in June, before taking part in a number of World Cup and World Series races later in the summer as he chases Olympic Qualification points for London 2012.
The new partnership will see Bryan riding a custom Vitus Vitesse carbon road bike, as well as receiving CRC’s support and mechanical back-up.
During a recent visit to CRC headquarters, Bryan spoke of his delight at the new deal. "Chain Reaction Cycles have big plans for triathlon and it’s great to have the support of such an established company.
“This season is going to be really exciting for both of us as they’ll be involved in a number of my international races this year.
"London 2012 is still very much my goal. The battle for Olympic qualification points began last summer but this year will see all the athletes that want to be on the start line in London fighting hard for places.
“I picked up some valuable points before my crash last season so that was a great start. This summer I’ll be looking to build on that by pulling some big performances out of the bag in the major races. It’s going to be really exciting," Bryan said.
Following a photo and video shoot at the company’s photography studio, Bryan was taken on the ‘CRC Tour’.
"The tour of the warehouse was amazing – to see packages heading off all over the world gives you an idea of the scale of their operations, it’s a bit like Santa’s workshop!"
