Janus Charity Challenge joins the Life Time Race to the Toyota Cup Triathlon Series

Through its Janus Charity Challenge, global investment management firm Janus Capital Group has joined up with Life Time Fitness as a sponsor of its 2011 Race to the Toyota Cup Triathlon Series.

Through its sponsorship of a variety of triathlon events and the creation of the Janus Charity Challenge – a unique program that helps triathletes raise money for their favourite charities – Janus ‘offers individuals with high aspirations another way to rise above the norm.’

The Janus Charity Challenge is the firm’s signature national giving initiative, and has inspired thousands of people – athletes and non-athletes — to meet the needs of their own communities.

The program was originally launched in 2001 in conjunction with Janus’ 10-year sponsorship of the elite Ironman triathlon series, which ended in 2010.

The Janus Charity Challenge is now available to a broader segment of competitive athletes through the Life Time Race to the Toyota Cup Triathlon Series, an internationally-renowned series of several of the most prominent triathlon events in the United States.

Since its humble beginnings, the Janus Charity Challenge has helped raise more than US$48 million for hundreds of charities – each one hand-picked by athletes inspired to turn their passion for triathlon into a passion for their favourite charitable cause.

The company is proud of the program’s achievements and grateful to the athletes and donors. Now, with the Janus Charity Challenge more widely available, the company intends to increase that amount — exponentially.
