Kerrville Triathlon Festival lands in Texas

The Kerrville Triathlon Festival, set for 1-2 October 2011, is the anchor event for this year’s Texas Tri Series presented by Jack and Adam’s Bicycles. The event brings a new Half Distance Triathlon to the Texas Hill Country area as well as Quarter and Sprint Distance triathlons.

Jack & Adam’s Bicycles, along with High Five Events and the City of Kerrville, have come together to produce the Kerrville Triathlon Festival, a multi-day event consisting of three races in two days featuring a downtown finish, a scenic cycling course, and a multi-loop run course that is great for spectators. In addition, the event hosts a two day Health and Fitness Expo and a free Kids Fun Run, where each child receives a free t-shirt.

The Half Iron Distance, taking place on Sunday 2 October consists of a 1.2 mile Swim, 56 mile Bike, 13.1 mile Run and includes a Relay option. The Quarter Distance Triathlon also taking place on Sunday, consists of a 1,000m Swim, 29.8 mile Bike, 6.4 mile Run.

On Saturday the festival offers a Sprint Distance Triathlon with a 500m Swim, 12 mile Bike, 5K Run. The Kids Fun Run also takes place on Saturday. The Health and Fitness Expo occurs on Friday, 30 September from 14:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from noon to 17:00 at the Inn of the Hills Hotel. The Expo is free and open to the public.

The Texas Tri Series, now in its fifth year, consists of six races, including the inaugural Kerrville Triathlon Festival. Registration is open for all triathlon events taking place during the Kerrville Triathlon Festival weekend.
