Octagon signs London 2012 triathlon qualifier Gwen Jorgensen

Global sports agency Octagon has confirmed the signing of 2012 London Olympic triathlon qualifier Gwen Jorgensen to a full representation agreement. Jorgensen placed second in the 2011 ITU World Championship Series in London, achieving the best finish by an American woman in history and automatically qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics.

“Gwen started triathlon in 2010 and within 18 months qualified for London 2012 while earning her CPA and starting a job with accounting firm Ernst & Young,” said Heather Novickis, Octagon Senior Client Marketing Manager. “Gwen is rare talent in the endurance sports space who epitomizes the Olympic spirit as an athlete and working professional. She will help enhance Octagon’s overall presence in the triathlon and endurance sports arena.”

“I am excited to take my triathlon career to the next level with the help of Octagon,” said Jorgensen. “I am confident that they will be able to help me balance my professional and athletic careers and with their expertise, I will be in a position to accomplish my goals in London and beyond.”

With an increasing presence in endurance sports, Octagon represents Jorgensen and London 2012 Olympic hopeful Matt Chrabot, winner of the 2011 Huatulco World Cup, Lifetime Chicago Triathlon and Miami International Triathlon, to its client roster. Octagon also works with Without Limits Productions – Colorado’s largest promoter of triathlon, cyclocross and cycling events – which include the Colorado Triathlon Tour, Steamboat Springs Olympic Distance Triathlon, Harvest Moon Half Ironman, Superior Morgul Classic and the prestigious New England Triathlon Series.
