Scott Sports has teamed up with pro triathlete Linsey Corbin to donate Corbin’s custom 2011 Scott Plasma3 bicycle to the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s New York Gala auction. Taking place this week in New York City on June 8, the event is CAF’s fifth annual ‘Celebration of Heroes, Heart and Hope’.
“Every time I race a triathlon and see a Challenge Athlete Foundation (CAF) competitor out on the course, I think to myself: ‘now, that is impressive’,” noted Corbin.
“I’ve always had a fondness in my heart for the CAF athletes and what they stand for: being relentless, hard-working, resilient, and positive attitudes. I am excited to partner up with such a great organization and Scott Sports to support this great cause. I hope the brand-new bike we are auctioning off will bring someone as much speed, enjoyment, great memories and a little bit of blood, sweat and tears that is has brought me.”
Adrian Montgomery, Marketing Director at Scott USA, added “We made two of these limited edition bikes for Linsey. It’s pretty normal to make a spare for pro athletes when they get a custom paint job. We put the spare on tour around the country at top triathlon shops as a display bike with intention of Linsey designating a charity for it to be auctioned for, and she chose CAF.
“We are stoked on the charity she chose. I personally admire the mission of CAF and couldn’t think of a better cause to support.”
