Triathlon England would like to announce the introduction of rolling membership, which became available on 1 February 2011.
The decision approved by the Triathlon England Board allows all members to receive 12 months from the point of signing up, and to ensure all members get value for money and receive an equal service.
The aim is that this strategic change will encourage many new members to join Triathlon England as there is no disadvantage to the time of year that they join. It then allows Triathlon England to offer excellent customer satisfaction for a 12 month period.
How it will work
All current members who renew before their membership expires will keep the existing expiry date.
Any new members will be given membership for 12 months including until the end of the current month giving them a goodwill gesture that ensures they receive 12 months’ membership. For example, for a new member who joins on 14 June, their membership season will be 14 June 2011 until 30 June 2012.
How will this affect event organisers?
Changes to membership cards
Triathlon England is aware that this alteration in membership will make event registration slightly more difficult for an event on race day, as the dates on all members’ cards will need to be checked to see if they are valid.
To make this change as easy as possible the new membership cards from 1 February will be made with a larger and bold expiry date.
In some instances, a member’s age category may change during the year’s subscription. In these cases, both age categories, including the date it changed will be printed on the card.
