The triathlontraining.net blog site is for sale on Flippa, the online website marketplace, with a minimum bid of US$5,000 and a buy it now price of US$12,500.
Having been around for several years, triathlontraining.net is a blog that is currently owned and operated by ontri.com Inc. It is largely used to drive traffic to the ontri.com site and for mobile apps. (Originally established in 2005, the triathlontraining.net site was then purchased in 2008 by Jon Finegold of the ontri.com triathlon and running community site.)
The triathlontraining.net design is unique (although shared by its sister blog marathontraining.us) and the content is supplied by members of the ontri.com community. When a user posts on the ontri.com message board, they are given an option to share the post on the triathlontraining.net blog.
According to Finegold, the blog has been a good way to drive traffic to ontri.com. However, ontri is growing mostly through mobile apps and the blog therefore “doesn’t get the attention it needs.”
However, thanks to its many years of content and the site structure itself, triathlontraining.net has good search placement for key phrases such as ‘triathlon training’, where it usually comes up 1 or 2 in Google – or certainly on the first page of Google search results. Finegold adds that for “Anyone in the triathlon business, this would be a huge asset to drive highly targeted traffic.”
