Wahoo Fitness app for multiple training sites

Wahoo Fitness, a fitness products company that delivers real-time training, exercise and health data to smartphones, has released its enhanced iPhone application featuring upload capabilities with Garmin Connect and Strava, two popular fitness and training sites used by athletes and exercise enthusiasts.

Garmin Connect and Strava join other Wahoo enabled platforms such as MapMyFitness, RunKeeper, Training Peaks and Nike+, enabling users to instantly upload run, ride or other fitness data from their smartphone for documenting and analysis.

Wahoo Fitness hardware and software solutions allow cyclists, runners and athletes of all kinds to use their smartphone device for the management and tracking of thousands of workout data variables, from a cyclist’s speed, cadence and power to a runner’s pace, distance and heart rate. The Wahoo Fitness Run Pack and Bike Pack deliver state of the art hardware with ANT+ capability, allowing data from sensors such as heart rate monitors and bike speed and cadence sensors to be transmitted in real time to any iPhone, placing all of a user’s exercise information in the palm of their hand.

Once a workout, ride or run is complete, all data can be instantly uploaded via the Wahoo Fitness app to any number of fitness and training sites including the newly-added Garmin Connect and Strava. Additionally, the Wahoo Fitness app allows wireless data to be captured on-the-go from Garmin’s watch and other devices, enabling users to upload data without requiring access to a computer.

“We are always looking for new opportunities to help cyclists, runners and other athletes connect more efficiently and effectively to their fitness data,” said Chip Hawkins, CEO of Wahoo Fitness. “Our hardware and software solutions give our user – the athlete – the ability to access their favourite training site and the power to quickly upload and share that data using an iPhone.

“The addition of Garmin Connect and Strava upload capabilities helps us create a more robust offering for our users for analyzing their workout data, tracking their goals and progress and exploring communities worldwide for their favourite fitness activities.”
