Tickets have been snapped up so quickly for the Wiggle Super Series New Forest 100 Sportive that an extra road bike sportive has now been scheduled. All 1,200 places for the New Forest 100 Sportive – due to take place on Sunday 2 October – from Brockenhurst, Hampshire – were sold in record time, so race organiser UK Cycling Events has added the Saturday New Forest 100 Sportive to the popular calendar of events.
The bonus sportive will be held on Saturday 1 October, and will cater for 500 riders. It will boast all the same features as Sunday’s event; and cyclists will be able to choose between the 100-mile epic route, the 66-mile standard route or the 44-mile fun route. All routes will weave their way through the beautiful New Forest National Park where the breath-taking scenery and quiet forest roads make for perfect riding.
Participants can look forward to all the extras that they have come to associate with the Wiggle Super Series events including well stocked feed stations, disposable chip timing, mechanical support, massages, bike wash facilities, a finisher’s medal, well-marked courses and a goody bag worth more than £10.
If riders book before midnight on 4 September they will also receive a free High5 nutrition pack worth £12.
Organiser Martin Barden, of UK Cycling Events, said “We were delighted when the New Forest 100 Sportive sold out in record time. When more and more road bike riders kept requesting places, adding another event on the Saturday seemed like the perfect solution. We did a similar Saturday sportive in April when our Spring Sportive sold out early and it was very well received.”
