Decathlon is an international sports retailer with major expansion plans under way in the UK. As a result, the retailer now has an opportunity for a Community Manager to join its growing team at the company’s head office in London.
The Community Manager will report to the Head of Communications, and is responsible for managing communities across social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and Decathlon UK’s own website.
This will involve:
- Responsibility for the editorial content and communities of the Decathlon brand in the UK
- Analysis of social media metrics/KPIs
- Communication of insight gained from community monitoring & social media listening platforms to all teams and stakeholders
- Maintenance, development and management of the overall social engagement strategy, tactical activity plans and measurement criteria
- Identification of new areas of opportunity and innovation

The successful Community Manager candidate will be an expert in the field of social platforms and social engagement. This individual must be passionate about social media and have an understanding of how social media fits in with the wider organic performance and digital marketing mix.
Previous experience of community management and engagement across social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube is essential, along with evidence of successful activation of brand campaigns across social platforms. The winning candidate should have strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
The Community Manager will also take charge of the management of all product PR for Decathlon’s ‘passion brands’ to ensure its best products are reviewed in the relevant specialist press magazines and digital platforms as soon as they come on to the market in the UK.
