As leading global player in custom technical apparel, Champion System is now focusing on the Western United States with the addition of Custom Apparel Specialists and regional offices.
Leading Champion System’s initiative in the Western region will be action sports industry veteran Troy Angwin. Also, bolstering Angwin’s expertise in the region will be Jamie Bate and Dave Griebling. Greibling will be located within the Intermountain West area based out of Colorado.

Champion System’s collaboration with Troy Angwin will tap into his vast experience that includes working with leading sport and fashion brands, retail, media and top athletes. Brands Angwin has been affiliated with in the past include Specialized, SIDI, Colnago, BMC and Condé Nast Publications. Additionally he founded the sales agency Icon Sports in 2008.

Custom apparel opportunity
With an eye for market opportunities, Angwin said he feels there will be a major movement in consumer products towards customization.
“Champion System’s product line allows me to provide a performance-level custom product to professional and amateur athletes as well as retailers. Their product is leading the custom movement within the active custom apparel industry,” Angwin said. “I look forward to a substantial long term partnership with Champion System.”
Angwin added that he will assist retailers to increase profitability and branding through Champion System’s offerings, which, he said, “are developed with passion and innovation while retaining excellent value.”
Jamie Bate spent many years working for independent bicycle dealers and is a media industry veteran with a career that includes work at VeloNews and Competitor Group. Bate will also develop media outreach for the Champion System Pro Cycling Team, the first-ever pro continental squad licensed in Asia by the UCI.
That first-hand experience with the pro team and how Champion System uses rider feedback in R&D for the company’s cycling gear is something Bate wants to convey to regional clubs, teams and shops.

Based in Colorado, Dave Griebling will be Champion System’s presence in the Intermountain West region. An outdoor industry veteran, Griebling has worked with Oakley as an outside rep and in sports retail management. As a principle partner at Pioneer S&M, Griebling helped small upstart companies gain exposure in the cycling and ski markets.
