De Soto Sport and KOZ Events, two companies with deep roots in the San Diego triathlon community, have formed a partnership for the 2012 triathlon season.
Under a new deal between the companies, apparel and wetsuit specialist De Soto Sport will be the title sponsor of the De Soto Sport Mission Bay Triathlon. In addition, De Soto is a KOZ Multisports Points Series sponsor. The races in the series include:
- Spring Sprint Triathlon & Duathlon
- San Diego International Sprint Triathlon
- San Diego International Triathlon
- Solana Beach Triathlon & Duathlon
- Surf Town Triathlon & Duathlon
- De Soto Sport Mission Bay Triathlon
“We are excited to be working with Emilio and his company,” said Rick Kozlowski, the name behind KOZ Events. “It is so fitting that after racing as a pro in so many of our races, he is able to give back by partnering with us as a title sponsor.”
”Rick and I became friends through the sport in the early 80s and I have raced in over 40 of his races” said De Soto company founder, Emilio De Soto. “It is really special that we are able to have such a large involvement this year. Plus, my 80-year-old father is excited because he plans to race the entire series!”
