Life Time Foundation Corporate Charity Challenge

Life Time Fitness Inc, ‘The Healthy Way of Life Company’, has unveiled the seventh annual Life Time Corporate Charity Challenge, in which relay teams will compete at the Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon to help raise money for charity.

A division of the Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon, which is set for Saturday 14 July, the Corporate Charity Challenge was established to promote a healthy and active way of life among local companies while delivering much needed financial support to non-profit organizations.

Of the US$1,000 entry fee, 100% is donated to charity as follows: US$250 is donated to the participating company’s designated charity; US$250 to the Life Time Foundation; and the remaining US$500 from each team’s entry fee establishes a ‘Winners Pool’, which will be awarded to the designated charity of the top three performing teams.

Corporate Charity Challenge participants compete as relay teams on the Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon international distance course, which begins and ends at Minneapolis’ Lake Nokomis and includes a 1.5K (0.9-mile) swim, 40K (24.8-mile) bike and 10K (6.2-mile) run.

Each three-person team receives the following for taking part in the Corporate Charity Challenge:
VIP access pass for race day, including access to the VIP tent
Three-month Life Time membership
Limited edition triathlon apparel
Commemorative 2012 Life Time Minneapolis Triathlon poster
Expedited packet pick-up
Life Time nutritional products

“This challenge provides a great way for the Minneapolis business community to come together to deliver support for their favourite charities and experience a great team building event,” said Life Time Foundation director James McGuire. “Our Corporate Charity Challenge is a great example of Life Time’s commitment to support its communities through the Life Time Foundation, whose mission is about inspiring healthy people and a healthy planet one mission at a time.”

A cap of 50 teams is allowed to compete in the 2012 Corporate Charity Challenge.

As the charitable giving component of Life Time, the Life Time Foundation’s current mission is improving children’s nutrition – One School Lunch Program at a Time. The organization is on a mission to ensure every child has a healthy start in life, beginning with proper nutrition and exercise. Unlike many other charitable organizations in which a portion of the donation is consumed by administrative costs, 100% of every dollar donated to the Life Time Foundation supports its missions. All administrative costs are contributed by Life Time Fitness Inc.
