The latest release from the organising team behind TriStar Cannes 2013 plays on the glamour and movie heritage of the event’s home in southern France. The organisers have also commissioned some striking photography to try and capture the appeal of Cannes and to help promote the event.
According to TriStar owner Star Events, ‘the 2013 edition promises to be a blockbuster and takes off right from November!’ There are already 17 nationalities represented in the ‘cast’ of triathletes (elite and age group) currently signed up for TriStar Cannes 2013.
“Last year over 1,000 triathletes raced the inaugural TriStar Cannes and for this edition we’re expecting to get even more participants,” said Manuela Garelli, TriStar Cannes Race Director.
Garelli added, “In 2013 we aim to improve the event and to bring to the athletes all the glamour of one of the most scenic spots in France, in the city centre of Cannes again! Within the next week we will announce a really impressive pro field with many top world class triathletes! Cannes is a warm welcome to start the 2013 season in Europe in April.”
The organizing team has reportedly listened closely to the comments of TriStar Cannes 2012’s participants. From these, a number of new elements have been brought to the 2013 ‘remake’. These include: a new, yet still panoramic, bike course; an adaptation of the swim leg; and a new ‘set’ at the eastern part of la Croisette, Square Verdun, in Cannes.
One single site will host the Star&Co Village, the start-line, the finish-line, the bike park and the transition zone. The organisers note that everything will be on hand to ensure a festive atmosphere, with entertainment and easy access prioritised for athletes and spectators.
