Eddy Merckx Cycles continues to explore new materials and improved aerodynamics and partners with car manufacturer Lexus in its efforts. A recently released video from the bike firm shows that work is fully under way on a new experimental project: a prototype time trial/triathlon bicycle, called the ETT.
An interesting feature is the opening up of the bike’s downtube, with so-called ‘Venturi-slots’. According to the design team, the new features retain stiffness in the frame and also reduce drag significantly.
