New this year, fans of the 28th annual TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship will be able to follow the progress of cycling’s elite international athletes as they tackle the iconic Philadelphia course with real-time updates and spectator offers delivered directly to their smart phones via a free easy-to-use Event-Hub mobile application.
Event-Hub will be the primary event coverage source for the race, providing live, up-to-the-minute race updates including breakaways, crashes, lead changes and sprints to the finish, so fans can remain a part of the race from all points along the course.
“We are excited to provide our loyal fans with an app that feeds them live updates throughout the race,” said David Chauner, President of Pro Cycling Tour. “We think that this app is a great way to connect fans with the race, and the special events that are taking place around the circuit at local retailers and restaurants.”
The TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship is owned and managed by PCT Pennsylvania LLC, an affiliate of Pro Cycling Tour based in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Pro Cycling Tour creates and manages a variety of cycling events and special programs for corporate sponsors, non-profit organizations and municipalities.
With the TD Bank Bike Race Event-Hub app, rider and team statistics are at a spectator’s finger tips. This gives fans access to the list of competing teams and cyclists, as well as riders’ home countries and other information. The app also includes a map so fans can easily navigate the course and decide on the best places to watch, such as the Manayunk Wall, Lemon Hill and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Event-Hub also provides an easy way to organize potential dining venues, various attractions, and entertainment spots that Philadelphia has to offer during the race. Via an ‘Instant Offers’ alert, users are notified about specials at certain locations around the course area. These are clearly pinpointed on the race map for easy access.
Offers include discounts on food, beverages, bicycle equipment at local bike shops, activities for kids, and much more. Some offers may only be available upon downloading the app.
The Event-Hub app is available for free download in both the App Store and the Android Market.
