David Townsend, this year’s Triathlon Show Event Director commented “This was the biggest and most successful Triathlon Show in its 11 year life. We had a record number of visitors and exhibitors. Triathlon has seen a period of extraordinary growth in the UK, which we have experienced first-hand through increased interest and attendance in the show every year. This growth has been spurred on by the success of our elite triathletes, not least the Brownlee brothers gold and bronze at the Olympics.”

Also announced at the show was the acquisition of the event by Immediate Media, owners of 220 Triathlon Magazine. David Townsend, Event Director of outgoing organisers TCR Shows Ltd, commented “It’s fitting that Immediate has acquired The Triathlon Show as it was 220 Triathlon magazine’s initial enthusiasm for the event back in 2002 that helped its launch.”

He added, “Since the first show in 2003, the magazine has been an active partner, contributing to the seminar program and running the co-located industry awards. Immediate has a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team who understand the triathlon market putting them in a great position to take the show to the next level.”

Andy Healy, Publishing Director of 220 Triathlon magazine and the new Show Director of The Triathlon Show, added “Since its launch 24 years ago, 220 Triathlon has been at the forefront of the market, and has played a central part in the lives of triathletes of all levels. Triathlon continues to be one of the world’s fastest growing sports, so I am extremely pleased that we now have a live event to add to our already strong print and digital presence in this extremely important sector.”
