Brave Events, organiser of The Vachery Triathlon Festival, to be held in the stunning grounds of the Vachery Estate in Surrey, UK, on 21 July 2013, has announced a price reduction for the festival’s middle distance and standard distance races.
The price reduction follows a decision by the organisers to operate a partially closed race route this year. After consultation with the local community Brave Events concluded that a partial closed-road race route would be preferable given the road distance and ‘the low road traffic levels on a Sunday morning.’
The new price has been set at £125 (reduced from £145) for the middle distance race, whilst the shorter standard distance will be just £65 (reduced from £75). Those who have already entered at the original price will be entitled to either a refund, a credit note against another Brave Events race; or they can donate the value of the difference to the chosen charity of the Vachery Triathlon – The Children’s Air Ambulance Fund.
The Vachery Triathlon is aiming to be one of the biggest new events in 2013 and is set to become a stunning ‘must-do’ race for triathletes in the UK.
Race Director Mark Davis said of the price reduction “It’s very important that racers see this event as a great race that represents value for money so we are offering partial refunds to those that have already registered and we have reduced our entry prices for new entrants because we can only offer part of the road closures that we planned. It feels right to give something back and to offer a lower entry price to this unique race.”
The Vachery Triathlon Festival promises to be one of the biggest multisport events in the UK. It has attracted a large, international field drawn to the race by a large pro-prize purse and a fantastic course in The Surrey Hills designated an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
The race offers all triathletes an experience that includes a swim in the private spring-fed lake, before joining the pro field on fast, quiet roads (including an iconic climb up Leith Hill) before a run through closed country lanes.
The event promises to offer something for everyone, with on-site camping within the Vachery Estate, an exhibitors’ area featuring the latest in triathlon gear and produce from local suppliers plus fun activities for all the family who will enjoy the great atmosphere and countryside whilst athletes are racing.
Racers can choose to compete in either the middle (half-iron) or standard distance races, either individually or as part of a relay. The organisers are also happy to talk to clubs or groups about arranging special start waves for them to facilitate their club or group championships.
The Vachery Estate is located just outside the picturesque village of Cranleigh in the The Surrey Hills, only minutes from London and the motorways, M25, M23 and M3.
