Going, going gone: Outlaw Half 2014 sells out… only charity places available

One Step Beyond has confirmed that next year’s Outlaw Half, taking place on 1 June 2014, is now sold out – with 1450 places going in less than 24 hours.

There are still places in the full distance Outlaw Triathlon on 27 July 2014. Although, these are also expected to sell-out quickly.

Commenting on such a rapid take-up for the middle distance Outlaw Half event, the organisers noted, ‘For those that missed out, we are really sorry that we couldn’t fit everyone in and we were a little overwhelmed with the demand this year, we didn’t expect to sell out that quickly!’

Athletes can still get a place through the event’s charity partner, Cancer Research UK. One Step Beyond is proud to say that the 2013 Outlaw and Outlaw Half raised over £60,000; and athletes have the opportunity to be part of that in 2014.

To secure a place in the sold out Outlaw Half 2014, athletes can contact Cancer Research UK on +44 (0)871 641 2403.

Cancer Research UK funds almost half of all cancer research undertaken in the UK, including the life-saving work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses. Thanks to their hard work, cancer survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years, and every year the charity is discovering and developing newer, kinder treatments and getting closer to cures.

Despite all this good news, more than 1 in 3 of us will still develop cancer within our lifetime. But cures are within our grasp, Cancer Research UK just needs the funding. With the help from the triathlon community taking part in next year’s event, the charity can beat cancer even sooner.

For those who join the Cancer Research UK team, the charity will be on hand from start to finish. Athletes will benefit from expert training and fundraising advice, as well as an exclusive technical top to wear on the day.

The Outlaw 2013 will feature on Channel 4 TV on Sunday morning, 25 August.
