HITS Triathlon Series brings HITS Hunter 2014 forward by one week

HITS Endurance has announced that, after three successful triathlon events over the past two years, HITS Hunter will return to New York’s Catskill region. New bike and run courses were popular with athletes in 2013 and HITS’ management feels that moving the event forward a week will not only offer warmer temperatures, but increase registration numbers. Next year’s date for HITS Hunter is 13-14 September 2014.

“It’s amazing what one week can do to the weather in the Hudson Valley. With the new date, race mornings will be about 10-15 degrees warmer,” said HITS Race Director Mark H Wilson.

HITS Triathlon Series released a set of finalized course maps this week for all five distances of the Hunter event. They feature swims in the pristine waters of South Lake, which sits within the boundaries of the spacious North/South Lake State Park. The courses are all out-and-back routes, providing spectator interaction and to keep athletes on the safest roads in the area.

“The adjustments we made last year were very successful and we have already started to see the word spreading about 2014,” added Wilson. “This past year, we saw this race gain a lot of traction and have already received interest from athletes and clubs all along the East Coast for next year.”

Registration is currently open for HITS Hunter and, as an incentive for early registration, athletes who register before the price increases will receive up to 50% off. HITS Triathlon Series caps each of its distances at 500 athletes and has seen several 2013 races sell out, so early registration is encouraged.

The HITS Hunter race weekend will also feature a Fitness Festival, which will serve as the gathering place for participants and spectators to interact with local and national sponsors, fitness products, services, as well as event partners. Those interested in participating in the Fitness Festival can visit the race webpage, or contact Katie Thompson at Katie[at]HitsEndurance.com on +1 845 246 8833.
