Entries for Ironman UK 2014 will open to pre-registered athletes on Friday 23 August at 12 noon. Athletes can still join the many thousands already signed up via the free pre-registration area at IronmanUK.com. Pre-registration will close at midnight on Wednesday 21 August.
Recording a decade of the Ironman experience in the UK, the organisers of Ironman UK have confirmed that the 2014 event will be held on Sunday 20 July 2014 and will be hosted once again by Bolton and Lancashire.
Ironman has a strong charity fundraising tradition with Scope being the official charity of Ironman UK; it will provide a significant boost to the charity’s funds and 2014 will expand on the team of over 100 athletes racing for Scope this year.
Leader of Bolton Council, Councillor Cliff Morris, said “Ironman provides a welcome boost to the local economy, particularly the town centre, and showcases Bolton to an international audience. The event has fantastic support from residents and volunteers. We’re delighted it’s coming back to Bolton again next year reinforcing our reputation as a destination for hosting large sporting events.”
2014 registration
Athletes who have pre-registered will receive an email on the morning of Friday 23 August with a unique entry code. This will allow them to enter from midday on the Friday – with the entry fee remaining at £375 plus the ACTIVE Network administration fee.
The organisers of Ironman UK are expecting the 1850 entries to be sold out in record time and would urge anyone wanting to compete in Ironman UK 2014 to pre-register to secure a place.

It will also be the 10th Ironman UK, so we are planning a special celebration with the Awards Ceremony to be held on Monday evening for the first time.”
